What is a Taxpayer File?
My Job as an AuditorEach week you are responsible for managing the audits of your assigned offices. You are expected to audit each office ONCE weekly. If an office doesnt have any new taxpayers this week you are still expected to visit that office to audit any INCOMPLETE files.
Why is this job relevant?
QHow often should Taxpayer Files be submitted?
ATaxpayer Files are submitted on a daily basis as you process each return. Anytime you have an ACCEPTED client return through Keystone Tax Solutions software,
you must submit documentation to support the information on that tax return.

Once IRS disbursements starts, Files are due by each SUNDAY of the week of payroll. Once the compliance team has audited your files for that specific week, the next audit will be the following week.

Q
AA taxpayer files should include any documentation used to prepare
a client tax return. Please see the documents listed below:

* Taxpayer Driver’s License (Spouse if Applicable)
* Taxpayer Social Security Card (Spouse is Applicable)
* Dependent/s Social Security Card and/or Healthcare Card and/or Birth Certificate
* Income: W2/1099
* Self Employment Expense Log
* Signed Taxpayer Return
* All Signature Forms: 8879, 1040 Pages 1&2, RT Fee Disclosure Pages 1&2
* 1098-T (Provided by Educational Institution) if Taxpayer is claimimg Education Credit
*No Handwritten Documents
QHow do I submit my Taxpayer Files?
A

*With our cloud-based software there is a Document Manager with the software, therefore,
you will be able to scan your taxpayer files directly into the software and we will
have immediate access to your files; you will also be provided with another upload
method which you will be able to use. This gives us immediate acces to your information.

All files must be CLEAR & LEGITIMATE.
Q
AEvery file you submit should be a COMPLETED file. However, if there are items
missing, this WILL affect you payroll. You may review the “Payroll”section for details.
QPenalty for not Submitting Taxpayer Files

A
If you are a contractor with Keystone Tax Solutions in which you use our EFIN,
we are still responsible for your clients that you submit through our software
and hold a liability to them. Therefore,there are rules that are strictly enforced and you MUST comply.

If you do not submit taxpayer files, there is a penalty. Each incomplete file has a penalty of $510. Your payroll WILL be affected
if you do not submit taxpayer files. Furthermore, your access to the software will be restricted
and you will no longer be able to submit any tax returns until you submit all
required taxpayer files for your clients.
